Locals face problems as roads leading to Model Town have further been barricaded in Lahore.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – At least three policemen were injured during a clash with Pakistan Awami Tehreek s workers in Model Town on Friday morning.

The Punjab police have setup pickets at all the entry points while all vehicles are thoroughly searched before entering the city.

The police have also placed containers around Punjab Assembly. The roads leading to the residence of Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri have further been barricaded with more containers.

The PAT workers clashed with police at Faisal Chowk in Model Town early morning. The police fired tear gas to disperse the mob while the workers hurled stones in retaliation that injured three personnel.

Protesting against the arrest of party workers, PAT president Raheeq Abbasi asked the workers to cross barricades to participate in the Youm-e-Shuhuda.

He lamented that the police had surrounded Minhajul Quran secretariat for the last 36 hours.

According to sources, Punjab government is considering to detain Dr. Qadri under sections 3 pr 16 of Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) to avoid any law and order situation.

PAT Chief’s name is likely to be put on the Exit Control List (ECL) because of a case registered against him for allegedly inciting people to violence.

On the other hand, investigations are being carried out against Dr. Tahirul Qadri in the money-laundering case while several other cases against him are in pipeline.
