Few thousand people cannot derail democracy: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif

"Government focusing economic progress, all serious parties acting maturely" - Nawaz

JEDDAH: (Dunya News) – Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that democracy cannot be derailed by a few thousand people. “Pakistan cannot afford politics of slogans and sit-ins currently”, said Nawaz Sharif.

While talking to Pakistani journalists in Jeddah, Pakistan Muslim League (N) President said that political parties have learnt their lessons from the past and are now striving for the stability of democracy in Pakistan. He said that option of dialogue is open for everyone.

Nawaz Sharif said that democracy has been won by millions of Pakistanis; a few thousand cannot derail this hard-earned victory over dictatorship. “Thousands cannot hold hostage the mandate of millions”, said the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister belittled Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI)’s long march of August 14 saying that the day will pass without doing any harm to the government.

“Only democracy will bring revolution in Pakistan”, said PML-N leader. Nawaz Sharif said that government is focusing economic progress and all the serious political parties of the country are acting in a mature manner.

Chairman PTI Imran Khan had announced the long march against the government on 27th of June during his speech in Bahawalpur.
