Request for Imran Khan's election nomination papers as well
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former chief justice Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Chaudhry has requested for the record of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan from the Supreme Court (SC), and has submitted a request with the Election Commission Pakistan (ECP) as well, these documents will help against Imran Khan during litigation.
The letter from former CJP to SC requests a certified copy of the affidavit by Imran Khan. This is the same case where Imran Khan had used the word ‘shameful’ for retiring officers.In this case Imran Khan had taken the position that he had not criticized the judges of SC and, he did not mean any disrespect towards the judiciary.
On the other hand, the request filed with ECP seeks the nomination details of the party members of PTI so that the demands are verified pertaining to rigging allegations concerning their respective constituencies.
The plaintiff’s lawyers including Advocate Sheikh Ihsaan-ul-Din, who said the obtained evidence, would be used against Imran Khan, filed both these requests.
