Parliamentary committee formed for electoral reforms

The committee comprises 33 members both from the National Assembly and the Senate

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A parliamentary committee comprising 33 members for the purpose of electoral reforms was formed on Friday, Dunya News reported.
The committee aiming to begin electoral reforms comprises as many as 22 and 11 members of both the National Assembly and the Senate, respectively.
The committee has National Assembly’s members of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) including Zahid Hamid, Anusha Rehman, Abdul Qadir Baloch and Murtaza Javed Abbasi.
Members of the committee from Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) are Shazia Marri and Naveed Qamar, while Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is represented by Farooq Sattar, and SA Iqbal Qadri.
The committee also has representation from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s members of the National Assembly including Arif Alvi and Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F)’s members in the newly formed committee are Ghaus Bakhsh Meher and Murtaza Jatoi, whereas members of Jamiat Ulama Islam Fazal (JUI-F) are Naima Kishwar, Tariqullah.
Other members include Aftab Sherpao, GG Jamal, Usman Tarkai, Ijazul Haq and Sheikh Rasheed.
From the Senate, Aitzaz Ahsan, Farooq H Naik, Raza Rabbani, Haji Adeel, Ishaq Dar, Malik Rafiq Rijwana, Talha Mehmood, Hilalur Rehman, Israrullah Zauhri, Mushahid Hussain Syed and Tahir Mashhadi are on board the electoral reform committee.
