Musharraf's impeachment main cause of Nawaz Sharif's problems: Ahsan Iqbal

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal on Wednesday claimed that the reason behind all the problems of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is the decision to impeach former President Pervez Musharraf. He said Musharraf should prove it in court if he’s innocent, Dunya News reported.
Federal Minister said that the root cause behind all of Nawaz Sharif’s troubles is the government’s decision to impeach Pervez Musharraf. He said that Musharrad’s impeachment doesn’t mean that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) is against the army.
Ahsan Iqbal said that no revengeful action will be taken against the former president.
He said constitutional amendments would be needed if Musharraf was to be freed.
Federal Minister said that the commentators from across the world had termed the general elections of 2013 as impartial and independent. He asked why they waited for one year to cry rigging, adding that protests would have erupted the next day if there was rigging in the elections.
He said Imran Khan formed the government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after accepting the election results.
