PM announces Rs 20k allowance for each family of IDPs during Ramazan

PM Nawaz has assured to extend all possible assistance for the IDPs of North Waziristatn.

BANNU (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced special allowance of Rs 20,000 for each family of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) during holy month of Ramazan, Dunya News reported.
Addressing the IDPs in Bannu on Friday, the Prime Minister also announced increasing assistance package for each family up to Rs 20,000 from current Rs 12,000.
He has assured to extend all possible assistance for the internally displaced persons of North Waziristatn.
PM Nawaz said the government is aware of the difficulties being faced by the displaced families and military-civil officials are working together to provide relief to them.
He said safe and peaceful return of the IDPs to their homes will also be ensured after the establishment of peace in North Waziristan.
Earlier today, the military officials gave a detailed briefing to the Prime Minister on the arrangements made for the internally displaced persons of North Waziristan in relief camps. He also met with the soldiers and officers of Pakistan Army.

Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed and Abdul Qadri Baloch are accompanying the Prime Minister.

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif received Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on his arrival in Bannu district.

The operation Zarb-e-Azb has seen the northwestern tribal area of North Waziristan hit by more than a week of shelling and air raids, and more than half a million people have fled ahead of an impending ground assault, with many going to the nearby town of Bannu.
