Won't let democracy be assaulted: Zardari

NOWSHERA (Dunya News) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari said on Saturday that his party accepted results despite rigging in the elections for the sake of democracy. He said that he is familiar with the game that is being played, adding that no one will be allowed to assault democracy, Dunya News reported.
Addressing party convention through telephone, former president said that PPP has always struggled for the welfare of democracy, and that PPP will fight every conspiracy against democratic institutions.
Zardari said that despite blatant rigging in general elections, his party accepted the results for the sake of strengthening democracy.
He said that he is familiar with the game that is being played, adding that no one will be allowed to assault democracy.
