Two pilots martyred as Pak Army aircraft crashes near Gujranwala

The aircraft was on routine training flight when it crashed due to technical fault near Rahwali.

GUJRANWALA (Web Desk) - An Army Aviation Mashak aircraft which was on a training flight crashed due to technical fault near Gujranwala on Tuesday, Dunya News reported. 

According to ISPR, An Army Aviation Mashak aircraft was on routine training flight when it crashed near Rahwali area of Gujranwala as the pilots failed to control it due to technical fault.

Both the pilots embraced martyrdom in the incident.

The law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and rescue teams have shifted the dead bodies of both the pilots to hospital.

According to Dunya News, an inquiry has been launched to ascertain the nature of the technical fault in the aircraft.

The Pakistan army uses Mushshak aircraft to train pilots commissioned in its aviation wing.

The aircraft, which is manufactured indigenously, is a big source of export earnings for Pakistan and sold to several Middle Eastern countries.

The exact cost of the aircraft and number sold have not been made public.
