Pakistan hit by 1,017 terror incidents in six months: Interior Ministry

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the most affected province, says Interior Ministry.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Interior Ministry has informed National Assembly that during the last six months, 1,017 incidents of terrorism took place in different areas of Pakistan that claimed 878 lives.

The report submitted by Interior Ministry, stated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was rocked by 327 terror attacks followed by 266 in Balochistan, 155 in Sindh and 39 in Punjab. Moreover, four attackers were carried out in Azad Kashmir while another in Gilgit.

FATA was also hit by terror attacks where militants carried out 222 terror attacks.

According to Interior Ministry, 232 security personnel were martyred while 646 lives of citizens were lost during the last six months.

The ministry also presented a list of foreigners imprisoned in Pakistani jails. The list showed a total number of 571 foreigners out of which 270 were Indian locals while 19 Indian spies were also in custody.
