Third session of Taliban committee: consultations among TTP factions underway

The TTP committee has completed 75 percent of the consultations with different factions of Taliban.

NORTH WAZIRISTAN (Dunya News) – A three-member consulation committee of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan held its third session over talks with government peace committee on Saturday.

During the session, commanders of different Taliban factions consulted over adding names of Mubaligh Islam Haji Abdul Wahab, Maulana Samiul Haq, Dr Abdul Qadeer and other political leaders in government peace committee.

According to sources, the committee of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan included Deputy Chief of TTP Sheikh Khalid Haqqani, spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid and Mohmand Agency Chief Umer Khalid Khorasani.

The committee has completed 75 percent of the consultations with different factions of Taliban.

During the consultation sessions, the leaders recommended to add names of leaders of Jammat-e-Islami, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, JUI (S) chief Samiul Haq, Mumtaz Mubaligh Islam Haji Abdul Wahab, scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer in government’s peace committee.

Meanwhile, the commanders are also deciding the venue of holding dialogue and the conditions to be tabled with the government’s body.

According to Taliban sources, the session of Shura council will be held tomorrow. The session, that will include all chiefs of TTP factions, will also establish committee to hold peace talks. The committee will include 8-12 members of Taliban.

The names under consideration include South Waziristan’s ameer Khalid (Sajna), Commander Adnan Rashid and Shakil.

The committee will also include three religious clerics and two journalists.

Most of the leaders in the session agreed to hold talks in Bannu or Dera Ismail Khan (D.I Khan).
