PTI chief rejects split of Sindh and says the real issue is to give the rights to the oppressed.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that he would frequently visitKarachi like Mehmood Ghaznawi’s attacks.
Talking to media after a meeting of local office bearers and party workers, the PTI chief said he could not pay proper attention on Karachi and Sindh during general elections due to his injury but in future he will frequently visit Sindh.
Imran Khan said that Sindh 1 or Sindh 2 was not a real issue while the real issue was to give rights to the oppressed masses of the province. He said that some political parties wanted to divide the masses for their vested interests.
Responding to Abid Sher Ali’s statement about electricity theft in Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa, Imran Khan said that the PML-N should explain about electricity theft by Ittefaq Foundry.
The PTI chief said he challenges the government to handover all system of power generation and distribution to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government and his party’s provincial government would prove to stop the power theft.
Imran Khan said separate laws were being practiced for the elite and the common masses and NRO’s were prepared for some particular person or for one who violated constitution.
Khan affirmed that his party would actively participate in upcoming local bodies elections in Sindh, especially in Karachi which is considered to be stronghold of MQM’s politics.
“People of Karachi have supported PTI and have expressed confidence, we are ready to fully participate in the local bodies elections across Sindh especially in Karachi, he said.
Imran Khan who is on Sindh visit criticized Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Tuesday and said that Sindh 1 and Sindh 2 sound like Indian movies Dhoom 1 and Dhoom 2.
He said that money-makers have ruined country’s economy after coming to power. Opportunists go to the extent of changing parties just for the sake of power, he added.
Khan said that they are already struggling to get NADRA to verify votes in four out of eight constituencies. 50 votes per person were cast in Karachi, he claimed.
Taking on federal and provincial governments, the PTI chief said all developmental work is being carried out in Lahore.
He said that corrupt politicians have taken advantage of power to financially destroy the country. Pakistan’s survival depends on a system that guarantees justice for everyone, he said.
PTI has rejected MQM chief’s demands a number of times and spokesperson Shireen Mazari had earlier said they might consider filing petition against Altaf Hussain’s statements.
Addressing a party gathering in Karachi last Sunday via telephone from London, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain had proposed the formation of ‘Sindh 1’ for the populace considered as Sindhi by PPP and ‘Sindh 2’ for rest of the province where people belonging to other ethnicities reside.
“This way Sindh will not break. No one desired to break Sindh. Urban populace of Sindh is ready to become Sindh 2, you be Sindh 1, we both will work for the welfare of Sindh and then the world will decide which part of Sindh progresses more.” said MQM chief on Sunday.
