KURRAM AGENCY/ MUZAFFARGARH (Online) - Security forces on Thursday foiled a big terror bid to target Shia procession in Kurram agency by recovering huge cache of arms explosives during raid on compound of terror group leader.

According sources that to security forces raided the compound of Qari Naeem, leader of banned militant outfit located in Anudanad area of tribal agency.

Forces arrested two terrorists and recovered huge cache of arms, explosives.

Forces recorded 55 IEDs, Two RPGs, several kilograms of explosives, 15 landmines, 16 anti-tank mortals, 5 bombs and anti-aircraft guns and mortals.

The arrested suspects were shifted to undisclosed location for investigations.

Sources said these terrorists were plotting terror attacks on Shia processions in Kurram agency.

Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies thwarted major terrorism bid of the miscreants by diffusing heavy explosives outside the central Imam Bargah, Shitte house of prayer, in Kot Addu, district Muzaffargarh, officials said.

Lives of hundreds of Muharram devotees were saved by the onetime action of Punjab police by recovering device bomb of at least 8 kilograms of explosives, police officials said.

Kot Addu tehsil is a very historic city situated in southern Muzaffargarh district in the Punjab province of Pakistan.

Miscreants planted the device bomb in the procession’s path inside begrime outside the Imam Bargah, however, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) officials diffused it.

More contingents of security forces have been called at the spot and security measures has been increased by the higher authorities.
