TTP spokesman says Constitution of Pakistan is secular, Imran too part of system we dont accept.

NORTH WAZIRISTAN (Dunya News) - TTP Spokesman Shahidullah Shahid Sunday said that no talks have been started with the Pakistan government so far, adding govt had not even nominated its team that will holds the talks.

In a video interview from an undeclared location in North Waziristan, Shahid said Taliban were ready for the peace talks but government did not seem to be serious.

The Government of Pakistan will have to announce unilateral ceasefire if it was serious about talks, he said adding that the govt seemed helpless as it could not tell US to stop the drone attacks.

“It was difficult to hold talks with powerless rulers,” he said.

Shahid said the aim of TTP was to defend Muslims all over the world and it was not involved in killing of Pakistani citizens.

A third force, working for enemies of Islam, was involved in attacks in Pakistani cities, he said.

Regarding the reports of differences among different militant groups, the TTT spokesman said all groups were united under the leadership of Hakimullah Mehsood. The so-called groups were only different wings working under a central command, he said.

Talking about Malala Yousfzai, he said she was targeted because of her anti-Islam propaganda and not because of going to school.

“We will target Malala again if we get an opportunity,” he said.

About PTI chief, Shahid said Imran was also part of the secular system and if he was serious about talks with Taliban he should quit the path of western democracy.

Shahid said some people have been making sincere efforts for peace talks for the last so many years and TTP valued these people.

However, he said talks with Pakistan government are possible only if demands of TTP are accepted first.
