Memon says operation will be extended to other districts; no particular group is being targeted.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Information Minister Sindh Sharjeel Memon has said that operation for peace in Karachi was indiscriminate and impartial.

Addressing a press conference here, Sharjeel said propaganda that security forces were targeting the activists of a particular party was baseless and misleading.

“Peace in Karachi is our priority and operation in Karachi will continue the all networks of criminals and terrorists are busted,” he said.

He said the targeted operation was being expanded to Hyderabad and districts of the province for recovery of illegal arms.

Memon announced that some internet services and apps like Viber, Tango and Skype would be suspended for three months in Sindh, as terrorists and criminals were misusing social media facilities for their activities.

He said help of federal government would be sought for blocking the illegal SIMs.

The minister informed the media persons that illegal arms and weapons have been recovered from Karachi and operation would be taken to its logical conclusion.
