PTI, JUI protest against alleged rigging in polls

Dunya News

Political workers of various parties are protesting against rigging in polls in different cities.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf’s workers are showing their resentment against corruption allegedly committed by the PML-N in NA 125 constituency where voters and supporters of Khawaja Saad Rafiq allegedly cast bogus votes in the favour of their candidate.

Protestors also have demanded of the Election Commission to take notice of the critical situation.

Stage-in of the PTI’s workers has entered third day; party workers including youth, women and children are emotionally participating in the protest, with the intention that they would continue their demonstration until their candidate the same constituency is declared successful.

Protestors are of the view that the PML-N in connivance of the establishment has changed polling results.

They have also demanded the Supreme Court to take notice of the issue; otherwise they would be bound to expand the movement across the country.

On the other hand, workers of JUI also raised voice against alleged corruption committed during elections. A large number of party workers gathered in Hashtnagri Chowk and blocked the GT Road.

Due to mismanagement, general flow of traffic was badly affected, causing tremendous problems even from ambulances.

Angry protestors tried to head towards the office of election commission but police stopped them to go ahead.
