Man jumps to death while fleeing fire
Rescue teams evacuated others stuck in the building.
KARACHI: In a tragic incident on Wednesday, a man died after jumping from the 8th floor of a building to escape fire, Dunya News reported.
The victim identified as Awais Baig, 20, was shifted to a local hospital, where he died.
The fire broke out at about 11:20 a.m. local time on the eighth floor of State Life building, located in the downtown Saddar area of the city.
There were 20 to 25 people around when the fire erupted, a rescue official said.
The cause of the fire is still not known.
