Smuggled goods recovered from pilgrims buses in Quetta

A case has been lodged against the accused under Customs Act

QUETTA (Dunya News) – Authorities have on Monday foiled a bid of smuggling by recovering goods from the buses of pilgrims returning from Iran via Taftan.

Addressing a press conference in Quetta on Monday, Custom Collector Quetta Ashraf Ali said that on a tip off, a team raided a bus of pilgrim returning from Iran via Taftan.

Subsequently, large number of smuggled goods including tyres, carpets crockery cumin (zeera), garments, PP bags, cooking oil and other edible items were recovered from the buses.

The market value of the smuggled goods is more than Rs20 million and value of seized buses is around Rs2.35. million.

A case has been lodged against the accused under Customs Act, while an investigation is underway.
