Multan police tyrannizes elderly couple over protest against land grab
Taking notice of the incident, RPO and CPO suspended the involved policemen and ordered inquiry
MULTAN (Dunya News) – Multan police has tyrannized a 75 year old elderly couple who were protesting against 5.06 canal land grab by an MDA official.
The incident highlighted Punjab Police’s barbaric and unethical approach to handling matters yet again. The elderly couple was dragged on the road and was thrown in police van like criminals.
The couple repeatedly requested the police to not act in the manner they were acting but the SHO and other police officials didn’t pay any heed.
After the news was aired on Dunya News, RPO and CPO took notice of the incident and ordered inquiry into the matter while suspending the involved police officials till further notice.
The inquiry report has been demanded within 24 hours and it will also be presented to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
