Punjab Food Authority confiscates 11 lac rotten eggs in Lahore

PFA raided Alwaha Egg Processing unit and seized the eggs worth Rs1.5 crore.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Food Authority (PFA) while raiding a biscuit powder making factory in Lahore’s Manga Mandi area has confiscated 11 lac rotten eggs on Thursday.

According to details, the factory used to make powder for renowned biscuit factories from eggs.



PFA raided Alwaha Egg Processing unit and seized the eggs worth Rs1.5 crore. The eggs were rotten to the extent that chicks have been hatched out from some of them.



PFA Director General has said that the factory was sealed few days back however; it was operational illegaly. He asserted that strict punishments for those committing adulteration will be approved soon.



All the rotten eggs were disposed off and the factory was re-sealed. Moreover, a case was also registered against the factory owner.
