Customs officials recover 30 alcohol bottles at Lahore airport

The security officers have launched an investigation into the matter.

.LAHORE (Daily Dunya) – Customs officials have confiscated as many as thirty alcohol bottles from passengers travelling in nine different flights during raid at Allama Iqbal International Airport.

Sources told that the officers conducted an operation in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight 204, Shaheen Airlines flight 767, Turkish Airlines’ 714, PK-758, PK-203, Ittehad Airways flight 243, Thailand Airlines flight 243, and Emirates flight 622 and recovered the bottles.

The security officers have launched an investigation into the matter. 

Earlier, Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan had suspended Sindh High Court (SHC) decision regarding ban on alcohol in the province, directing to implement 1979 law and act accordingly.

SHC had ordered to close bars selling alcohol across the province and banned 120 liquor vendors. The court had instructed the authorities to continue shutter down until the formation of proper procedure.
