National health ministry slaps 10-year imprisonment, Rs1mn fine on organ traffickers

The health minister said that we need to stop such kind of activities in the country at any cost.

ISLAMABAD (Daily Dunya) - Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination has suggested to sentence suspects involved in illegal kidney trafficking to 10 years in prison along with Rs one million fine.

Addressing the session of National Assembly’s Standing Committee on National Health, State Minister of the organization Saira Afzal said that the authorities would immediately seal the hospitals for illegally transplanting foreigners’ body parts.

She said strategies have been prepared to launch strict action against those who would commit this heinous crime whereas they would also be slapped with heavy fine.

The minister said that we need to stop such kind of activities in the country at any cost.
