Jamshed has been granted bail in the second case.

LAHORE (Dunya News)- Cricketer Naisr Jamshed has fallen prey to vicious tentacles of Pakistan Super League (PSL) spot-fixing case as Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) anti-corruption unit (ACU) has slapped one-year ban on him.

The three-member tribunal has on Monday found Jamshed guilty of violating its code for “obstruction and non-cooperation” in one case pertaining to spot fixing row. He would not be able take part in all formats of cricket for one year.

Jamshed was alleged to have acted as ‘facilitator’ to strike a deal between some players and bookies during second installment of Pakistan Super League. Reports suggest that Jamshed phoned Khalid Latif and directed him to meet his friend in Dubai.

As per details garnered, Jamshed was indicted in two cases. ACU has awarded him bail in the second case on providing relevant information.

Jamshed has appeared in two Tests, 48 One-Day Internationals and 18 Twenty20 Internationals for Pakistan.

It is pertinent to mention that both Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif were banned for five years each whereas fast bowler Mohammad Irfan and all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz were also suspended for twelve and two months respectively for not reporting the corrupt approach to the board in a timely manner.
