MUMBAI (Web Desk) – India batsman Ajinkya Rahane, who is regarded as one of the safest fielders in the side, has revealed that the discipline he followed while travelling in the local trains of Mumbai has helped him in improving his slip catching.

The right-handed batsman told that every second was very important for him due to the specific timings of the trains, and the training to follow these particular schedules assisted him in his fielding as well.

"It all started from when I was traveling in the Mumbai locals when I was a youngster. I started traveling from Dombivali. During this, every minute and every second was equally important. I started the journey in the morning and in Mumbai from Dombivali, the local train s timings were at 5.50, 5.52 and 5.55. So each and every second became important. As a Mumbaikar, I m very particular about my timing. So the discipline I followed during those days, has carried forward and has helped me in my slip catching as well. Other than that, the preparations I did when I had a finger injury also helped. My timing in the slip catches improved due to the preparations I made," reported India Times.
