PCB has replaced elder brother Kamran with younger brother Umar for ICC Champions Trophy.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Questions are being raised regarding the selection of Pakistan cricket team as it looks like the national squad consist of only ten players, and one spot is reserved for Akmal brothers.

According to details, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has replaced elder brother Kamran Akmal with younger brother Umar Akmal for ICC Champions Trophy, the biggest cricketing event of the year.

Although chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq had earlier indicated that Kamran Akmal would not be dropped from the team, still PCB did not select him for the mega event.

It is pertinent here to mention that Kamran Akmal had made a comeback in one-day international (ODI) squad after a long time against West Indies, and has been dropped by PCB after being given chance in only one series.

The decision appears strange also in the sense that the only replacement that PCB could found for Kamran Akmal was his younger brother Umar Akmal, who got dropped from West Indies tour due to poor fitness. It is worth mentioning here that Umar scored only 77 runs in three matches in the recently held national one-day cup.

The other victim of PCB selection committee is Asif Zakir who has been dropped from ICC Champions Trophy without even giving him a chance to showcase his talent. Zakir was selected for West Indies ODI series but did not get the chance to be a part of final eleven in any match.
