DJ Bravo to miss opening games of IPL 2017

Owing to the hamstring injury, the Gujarat Lions all-rounder will not be available for a few matches

NEW DELHI (Dunya News) - Dwayne Bravo will miss the opening games of this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL). The Gujarat Lions all-rounder is suffering from a hamstring injury.

The franchise owner Keshav Bansal announced that the 33-year-old bowler was having a hamstring injury which is why he would not play the initial matches of IPL 2017 for his team. Bravo had been the star player in previous edition of IPL where he successfully picked 17 wickets.

The right-hand batsman had suffered from the injury while Big Bash 2016 in December, last year. The franchise owner hopes to have Bravo back in the team as soon as possible. Meanwhile, New Zealand’s James Franklin will replace DJ Bravo till he recovers.

Gujarat Lions will play its first match under skipper Suresh Raina on April 7 while the league begins from April 6.
