Summary Akhtar stated that there was no misconduct of any sort.
LAHORE (Dunya news) – Lahore High Court on Thursday declared a fine of Rs. 70 lac imposed on Shoaib Akhtar as defunct. The fine was imposed by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on the former fast bowler. The High Court’s hearing was started by Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza after which Akhtar defined his stance on the fine. He stated that PCB had imposed a fine of Rs. 70 lac for misconduct. Instead of offering compensation, the money was received in context of a fine even though the imposed penalty was illegal in the first place.
Akhtar stated that there was no misconduct of any sort. PCB lawyer stated that Akthar was fined for violating PCB laws. After hearing both arguments the court gave its final verdict declaring the fine as void and ordered PCB to pay back Rs. 70 lac to Akhtar.
