OGDCL discovers hydrocarbons in Kohat

KOHAT (Dunya News) –Pakistan’s largest Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDCL) has discovered new oil and gas reserves in the district of Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), according to an announcement on Tuesday.

In what can be termed a major boost to petroleum exploration activities in the country, OGDCL with 50 percent of shares in this well, has made sizeable oil and gas-condensate discoveries at its exploratory wells.

According to the data available, initial testing is being considered as encouraging as it showed flow of crude oil at 240 barrels per day and 12.7 mmscf (million standard cubic feet) of gas.

Mari and Saif Energy have 33.3 pc and 16.7pc of shares, respectively. This well was drilled down to the depth of 3,200 meters.
