FBR declares 35 imported armoured vehicles tax-immune
The security vehicles were imported on recommendation of Ministry of Foreign Affairs
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Federal Board of Revenue on Tuesday has pronounced 35 armoured vehicles tax-free which were imported in bid to provide secure transportation to envoys of foreign states in Pakistan.
The security vehicles were imported on recommendation of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the notification of the Federal Board of Revenue, the said vehicles are not liable to be paid taxes over and constitutionally have immunity in this regard.
However, the department stated that the vehicles were bound to be used for the security of foreign envoys if taxes were to be waved off. Cabinet division was also entitled to use the vehicles, the FBR cleared.
It should be mentioned here that the armoured vehicles cannot be exported or sold without the permission of the Federal Board of Revenue.
