Report said that Indian forces molested women and girls in the 11th blackout day on August 15.

SRINAGAR (Dunya News) – Indian troops and paramilitary forces on Monday molested scores of women and girls while raiding houses in the occupied Kashmir and also arrested teenager boys in different parts of the valley, as reported by Kashmir Media Service.

A group of rights activist in New Delhi released a report which stated that Indian forces harassed many women in the region whereas abducted scores of boys in midnight raids in past two weeks.

According to KMS, the report was prepared after conversations with hundreds of affected people in and around Kashmir valley; all of whom were too afraid to speak on camera.

Indian armed forces in Kashmir abducted hundreds of teenage boys during midnight raids and molested women and girls on single day of August 15, the 11th blackout day, the report said.

There are no formal records of these arrests, one civilian said, so if someone was killed in custody the police could claim that they were never taken in the first place.

Report further stated that Indian government has imposed curfew around the region whereas the roads remain heavily blocked guarded by tens of thousands of more troops sent into the Kashmir in the last week.

Kashmir lockdown has prevented people of the region from going shopping for basic necessities, and medical facilities including ambulances. Faulty phone lines have also prevented sick people from calling ambulances, reports added.

The researchers behind the “Kashmir Caged” report added that between August 5 and 9, people lacked food, milk, and basic needs, though the Indian government said last weekend that it would send in more supplies in time for the Eid-ul-Azha religious festival.

Regional police, army, and paramilitary forces have raided hundreds of homes in the Kashmir valley and arbitrarily snatched very young schoolboys and teenagers from their beds from as early as August 5, the investigation report said.
