On the other hand, an Arab website says that as many as 17 detainees were shifted the hospital as they had needed medical treatment.

The arrests were ordered three weeks ago by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in an anti-graft swoop.

Eleven princes, four ministers and tens of former ministers are among those arrested. The allegations against the men include money laundering, bribery, extorting officials and taking advantage of public office for personal gain, a Saudi official said.
