Indian police seize balloons bearing 'I Love Pakistan' imprints

Police while taking action detained the retailer and supplier of the balloons.

KANPUR (Web Desk) - Indian police carried out a raid in Govind Nagar area of Kanpur city and seized packets of balloons with “I Love Pakistan” and “Habibi” meaning “my love” or “my darling” imprinted on them.



The provision store was located in the jurisdiction of Govind Nagar police station. Police has registered a complaint for making assertions prejudicial to national-integration under the Indian Penal Code, the Indian Express reported.

City Superintendent of Police (South) Ashok Verma told PTI that they were informed of the matter by Hindu Yuva Vahini member advocate Ajai Pratap Singh, after buying the packets of balloons for his son’s birthday.



Police while taking action detained the retailer and supplier identified as Sunny and Sameer Vig respectively. During interrogation, the suspects revealed that they bought theballoons from ‘Gubbarey Wali Gali’ in Sadar Bazar, the biggest and the oldest wholesale market in Delhi.
