Muslims save several precious lives ahead of the Grenfell Tower fiasco
Muslims woke up the people telling them to evacuate the neighborhood.
(Web Desk) – The Muslim community has always been on the receiving end whenever some tragedy takes place internationally. Whether it be a terrorist attack, a murder, a robbery or even a street fight for that matter, Muslims have always been blamed to be involved in such events. The involvement of Muslims has also been the talk following the unfortunate event of the Grenfell Tower catching fire but this time for all the right reasons. According to reports from the British media, the Muslim members of the community saved many precious lives following the unfortunate event.
Many Muslims, who were awake at that time of night waiting for the time of Suhoor – the meal consumed early in the morning by Muslims before fasting, helped the people around them escape the fire. Residents have told of how they didn t hear alarms as the fire swept through the 24-storey tower block in West London. But they were instead alerted to the blaze by fellow residents, some of whom may have been Muslim people who were awake early in the morning because of Ramazan and were among the first to notice the fire. They are even reported to have called 911 and the fire brigades as soon as they saw the building being lit up.
After the Grenfell Tower fiasco, Muslims are the first members of the community to provide food and shelter to the injured and have even open up the doors of their mosques in order to help out their fellow brothers and sisters. Many of them have donated water, food and clothing to the nearby St Clement church, where locals have taken refuge. Others are distributing water bottles to those waiting outside.
“If it wasn’t for all these young Muslim boys, a lot more people would have died. When these people do bad, we are the first ones to talk about them but they saved many lives today and we can’t be more thankful to them”, said an awe-struck woman residing in the neighborhood.
