Allahabad High Court attempts to abide Muslim Shariah law by the constitution.

ALLAHABAD (Dunya News) – Allahabad High Court calls instant triple divorce unconstitutional and a violation against women rights. The decision by Indian court was considered as an intervention in Muslim religious affairs.

However, The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) rejected court’s order and said that triple divorce is a matter of Islamic Shariah. The board criticised Narendra Modi government, calling the act as an enforcement of civil code.

The court added to its verdict that AIMPLB is not above the constitution.
