Twitter about to break as US witnesses #ElectionDay
People from across the globe, not just US, were interested in the election result as polling starts
LAHORE: (Web Desk) – United States (US) is currently experiencing one of the most important elections in decades as the world’s most powerful country is torn between two extreme odds. While the two biggest US political parties, Democrats and Republicans, are contesting this election tooth and nail, the most surprising element of this election is the topics that have come under discussion.
Most of us believed that the Americans had gotten over the civil war days and that their elections now revolved around the international relations and development subjects. However, this election saw things like racism, religious bigotry and colour taking the front seat after several decades.
The Twitterati also took to their favourite social media platform to share their views of the election. Here are some of the tweets that might give you an insight into the #ElectionDay discussions of the voters, and even those who have nothing to do with the US.
The best thing about the US elections is that people vote. It is their trust in the democratic system that makes them stand in long queues just to exercie their duty i.e. vote.
