After pigeon, Indian BSF detain 'spy hawk'
Security forces have also said that a note is tied with the hawk.
NEW DELHI (Dunya News / AFP) – Indian police has claimed of detaining a ‘spy hawk’ on Thursday, reported Roznama Dunya.
According to Indian media, Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has alleged that the trained hawk used as espionage from Pakistan was captured near the border area of Anupgarh in district Baknar of Rajasthan.
Security forces have also said that a note is tied with the hawk.
It is not the first time birds have become embroiled in the often deadly decades-old rivalry between the two nuclear-armed nations.
But it comes as tensions escalate over a raid on an Indian army base in occupied Kashmir in August that New Delhi blamed on the same militant group held responsible for the attacks in January.
The neigbours fought their third and last full-blown war in 1971.
Earlier, India falsely claimed successful completion of a surgical strike, that sparked fury from Islamabad which was later refuted by Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations, Lt General Asim Saleem Bajwa.
Two weeks back, Indian police said they have taken a pigeon into custody after it was found carrying a warning note to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Two balloons were also claimed to be recently found in Punjab with similar messages addressed to Modi in Urdu.
Last year, Indian police asserted that it seized a pigeon on suspicion it was being used for espionage by Pakistan and also X-rayed it to check for any spy camera, transmitter or hidden chip.
In 2013, Indian security forces found a dead falcon fitted with a small camera, and in 2010 another pigeon was detained over spying fears.
