All India Muslim Personal Law Board terms divorce on social media 'legal'

NEW DELHI (Dunya News) – All India Muslim Personal Law Board on Tuesday clarified that the divorce given on social media is legal and authentic.

The board termed the decision of separation between couple taken on social networking websites including Skype, Watsapp, Facebook, E-mail, and telephone as legal.

The board also expressed resentment over the remarks of Indian Supreme Court in which the study of Islamic laws to halt discrimination against Muslim women was suggested.

Talking to Indian media, spokesman and senior member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board Muhammad Abdul Rahul Qureshi stated that Muslim Law is an essential part of religion.

He clarified that the divorce can be given on every single source showing identity of man and woman as a married couple.
