Indian businessman gifts 1,260 cars, 400 flats to employees
The company has spent millions of rupees on Diwali bonuses this year.
(Web Desk) – An Indian businessman has gifted more than thousand cars and around four hundred houses to his employees yet again as Diwali bonus.
According to reports, Savji Dholakia, a Surat-based billionaire, has chosen 1,665 people, based on their annual performance.
The hefty bonuses, which were announced at an informal meeting of employees this week, have been an annual affair at this company. In 2015, the company had gifted 491 cars and 200 flats to its employees.
His company Hare Krishna Exporters posts an annual turnover of Rs 6,000 crore and employs around 5,500 people, the Indian media claimed.
This time, the diamond merchant has decided to gift houses to 400 employees. The company will make the down-payment, along with an EMI of 5,000 INR for five years. As many as 1,260 cars were reportedly given away and 56 were given jewellery boxes.
“We don’t treat diamond polishers as employees but as family members as they hail from the same area from where we belong. We have given them gift as per their performance in the company,” Dholakia had told the Indian Express last year.
In his early days a businessman, he established and grew his diamond business using a loan from his uncle.
