Demo of an AR measuring app caught the eyes of people who said it could replace the usual tape

(Web Desk) – It is rumoured that Apple’s upcoming smartphone iPhone 8 might have unique features like 3D laser technology and augmented reality. The inclusion of such specs could largely increase its popularity, however, the official release is expected to be delayed.

With the iOS 11 release, there will be an abundance of augmented reality apps for iPhones. One of these apps has already released a demo video of AR measure app which could replace the measuring tape with its virtual length and width estimation feature. The smartphone manufacturing company had earlier entered the AR world by launching its very own ARKit.

A CNBC report claimed that iPhone 8 release could be delayed due to prolonged wait in shipments which can go up to 3 to 4 weeks. It also said the Apple’s tech experts have not yet finalised some features like 3D facial recognition and wireless charging. There are speculations in various tech blogs that the Apple iPhone 8 official release might occur in mid-October.

Earlier, it was reported that a rumour says iPhone 8 will feature in four colours with one having ‘mirror finish . The upcoming smartphone is expected to have around 5.8 inches size, no home button, wireless charging, 3GB RAM, iris scanner and more. Its estimated price has been reported to be around $1200.
