Motorway rape incident: Petition to form judicial commission fixed for hearing in LHC
Punjab Police have completely failed in providing protection to people, the petitioner said.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – A petition filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday to form a judicial commission in the motorway rape incident has been fixed for hearing. Chief Justice Qasim Khan will hear the case on September 14.
The Punjab government, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Inam Ghani and Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Umar Sheikh have been made parties in the application.
The plaintiff has taken the stance that the CCPO accused the affected woman of the incident and the Punjab Police have completely failed in providing protection to people.
Crime ratio has increased due to the negligence and non-professional behavior of the police, the petitioner said while requesting the court to form a judicial commission.
