Dense fog leaves three injured, four dead in road mishaps in Punjab

A specific section of motorway was closed by the authorities due to the fog.

SHEIKHUPURA (Dunya News) – At least three people sustained injuries as 12 cars on motorway collided with each other due to heavy fog in various cities of Punjab  today (Monday) while two flights in Lahore were also diverted to Sialkot for landing.

The fog on one hand is welcoming winter season in Punjab while on the other hand, it is also becoming cause of mishaps in the province. The visibility has dropped to low level, resulting in the collision of as many as 12 cars on motorway near factory area in Sheikhupura.

The accident has left three people injured three who were shifted to the hospital for medical assistance.

On the other hand, four people were crushed to death after a speeding trailer hit a car in Darya Khan.

Meanwhile, the fog has also disrupted flight operation at Lahore airport after which the administration landed two separate flights coming from Kuwait and Kuala Lumpur in Sialkot.

 According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the fog will continue engulfing parts of country till Friday in morning and evening.
