CJ takes suo moto notice of Zain murder case, orders hearing on Nov 10

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court (DC) on Thursday has adjourned the hearing of suo moto notice in Zain murder case till November 10.

According to details, Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali appointed Registrar SC for hearing the case while inspecting the latest investigation made into the matter.

A three-member bench comprised of Justice Amir Hani Muslim, Justice Manzoor Malik and Justice Sardar Tariq Masood was also formed in this regard.

SC has also forwarded notices to Advocate General Punjab, prosecutor Punjab and Lahore police.

Earlier, the CJ summoned all the record as the suspects were acquitted by the authorities by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on October 27.

It is pertinent to mention here that the police personnel arrested two prosecution witnesses in September as they recanted their statements. The police said that the witnesses had recorded in statements that former state minister’s son Mustafa Kanju was drunk and shot the student but retracted later on.
