Lahore: 5000 cases registered in three days of Eid over SOPs violations

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Over 5000 cases have been registered while 487 challans of cars and motorcycles have been carried out in three days of Eid-ul-Fitr in Lahore due to violation of coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs).

According to details, 78 first information reports (FIR) have also been filed against public transporters for not implementing guidelines.  

On the other hand, Pakistan has reported 76 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 877,130. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 19,543.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 2,379 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths and cases followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 9,367 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,794 in Sindh, 3,766 in KP, 731 in Islamabad, 514 in Azad Kashmir, 264 in Balochistan, and 107 in GB.

Furthermore, 325,662 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 298,078 in Sindh, 126,787 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 79,123 in Islamabad, 23,831 in Balochistan, 18,231 in Azad Kashmir and 5,418 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 12,444,042 coronavirus tests and 30,402 in the last 24 hours. 788,768 patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,376 patients are in critical condition.
