Worst-Hit Province

Sindh government spokesman and advisor on law and environment Barrister Murtaza Wahab addressed a press conference today in Karachi and confirmed the count in Sindh which is the worst-hit province.

The advisor told that fifty percent pilgrims coming from Taftan border have been tested positive for the virus. Two patients have been discharged from the hospital after full recovery and all the victims are being kept in isolation ward for medication, he told.

He urged the federal government to take serious steps for curbing the spread of coronavirus as it is a long process and the country needs to cope with it. The provincial government has not taken any decision to close the hospitals, he added.

Murtaza Wahab further requested the people to stay at home for fourteen days for the prevention of deadly coronavirus in the province. If you want to help the government, just quarantine yourself instead of going on vacations, he asked.

On the other hand, Oman, Canada, UAE and Malaysia have put travel ban on Pakistanis in the wake of the epidemic. Only Pakistan-born Canadians and Americans and diplomatic staff will be allowed to travel to Canada.

Oman and Malaysia have restricted Pakistanis having visit and business visas while UAE has banned nationals of all other countries possessing paper visa.
