FM Qureshi meets Turkish president, Alice Wells in Istanbul

Turkish President expressed good wishes to PM Imran Khan and the Pakistani leadership.

ISTANBUL (Dunya News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi Monday met with United States Assistant Secretary Alice Wells and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the sidelines of Heart of Asia conference in Turkey.

According to Dunya News, important issues including bilateral trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan were discussed during a meeting between Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Alice Wells.

During the meeting, FM Qureshi expressed that there was a Pak-Afghan trade and investment group working under Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). He added that Pakistan is looking forward to APEC meeting which is taking place in January 2020 in Kabul.

On the other hand, FM Qureshi also met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during which they discussed bilateral relations and the situation in the region.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi sent a congratulatory message on behalf of Pakistani leadership to Turkish President. The Foreign Minister thanked Erdogan for the cordial welcome and hospitality in Istanbul for Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process.

FM Qureshi asserted that his voice over serious violations of human rights in occupied Jammu and Kashmir against Indian atrocities have encouraged Kashmiris enormously.
