Government wants to provide maximum benefit to masses: Finance advisor

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Finance advisor Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh on Saturday said government wants to give relief to people if petroleum prices reduce in international market. He said the prices of petroleum products are likely to go down from next month.

He said government wants to provide maximum benefit to masses and allocated Rs950 billion for developmental programs in the budget. He said developmental activities would have positive impact and jobs would be created.

Dr Sheikh said PM Imran Khan has directed to complete and continuously monitor mega projects at earliest so that people could get benefits. He said Rs 192 billion have been allocated for poor class of Pakistan, adding that government want to expedite welfare projects like Sehat Card.

He said Rs 262 billion subsidy has been given in budget, adding that it is will of government to restore economy to gain confidence of business community. He said efforts of government in this regard have started producing results.

Finance czar of the country said stock market saw an increase of 9% and exports increased after a long period. He said that a clear drop in current account deficit has been witnessed.
