ATC indicts Farooq Sattar, others in derogatory speeches case

KARACHI (Dunya News) – An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday has indicted Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Farooq Sattar, Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar and other party leaders in 21 cases regarding provocative speeches.

During the proceedings, MQM’s Sattar, Akhtar, Amir Khan, Khawaja Izharul Hassan, Rauf Siddiqui, Qamar Mansoor, Rehan Hashmi and others appeared before the court and pleaded innocence.

The court directed to present the witnesses and adjourned the hearing till November 10.

Earlier, ATC had issued non-bailable arrest warrants for MQM founder and other fugitives over inflammatory speeches.

Police had filed cases against 40 leaders including Dr. Farooq Sattar, Hameed Lakhani, Ameenul Haq, Qamar Mansoor, Mehfooz Yar Khan, Arif Khan, Shahid Pasha, Izhar Ahmed for hate speeches against intelligence agencies.
