PPP secretary general Nayyer Hussain says opposition contacts could accelerate in the next few days

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) is likely to formally contact Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) after former president and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari’s suggestion of tabling a resolution against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government over its incompetency to run the state affairs smoothly.

Sources said that the opposition has declared Asif Zardari’s suggestion as implementable.

Opposition is also likely to summon a session of All Parties Conference (APC) in which the PPP’s chairman’s proposal would come under discussion, sources added.

PPP secretary general Nayyer Hussain Bukhari said that the opposition contacts could accelerate in the next few days.

Earlier, the former president while addressing a press conference in Islamabad had urged the opposition to table an unanimous resolution against the ‘unfit’ govt over its incompetency to run the state affairs smoothly.

Terming Prime Minister Imran Khan as ‘selected’, Zardari had asserted that neither the incumbent government can work nor it can run country smoothly.

He also lambasted National Accountability Bureau (NAB) while stating that the premier anti-graft watchdog is summoning servants of those accused of corruption. Zardari stated that he was raising questions on NAB’s chairman way of thinking and manner of work.

The PPP co-chairman stated that he wasn’t beneficiary of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO). “Other parties including Muttahida Qaumi Movement benefited from the NRO. May be, Nawaz Sharif had benefited too”, Zardari was quoted as saying.

“Our police expired when Nawaz Sharif assumed charge as country’s premier”, asserted Zardari while calling for heading in the right direction. Zardari termed Islamabad a ‘city of conspiracies’.
