CJP declared Barrister Chaudhry's plea as ineffective for the case.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court (SC) on Monday has thrown out a petition seeking disqualification of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.

During the hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar declared Barrister Chaudhry’s plea as ineffective for the case and dismissed it.

The claimant’s counsel argued that an issue mentioned in the petition is still effective. However, I will not insist on this plea any more, he added.

It is to be mentioned here that the petition had sought disqualification of the premier as he did not fulfil Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution.

Earlier, announcing the verdict on PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi’s petitions, SC had disposed of plea to disqualify Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

Bani Gala is Khan’s property and he bought the land for his family, the CJP announced.

Hanif Abbasi had filed a petition, accusing the PTI leaders Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen of not declaring their assets to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
