KARACHI (Dunya News) – 71st death anniversary of founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is being observed today (Tuesday) with due solemnity and reverence.



National flag is being hoisted at all public and private buildings to pay tribute to the greatest leader.

Recitation of Quran and fateha will be held for the Quaid while people from different walks of life will visit the mausoleum to lay floral wreath on the grave.



Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was born on December 25, 1876 in Karachi. He served as leader of the All-India Muslim League from 1913 until Pakistan s independence on 14 August 1947.



By 1940, Jinnah had put forward his stance that the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent should have their own country. The Muslim League, supervised by Jinnah, passed the Lahore Resolution, demanding a separate nation.

Quaid-e-Azam died at age 71 in September 1948, just over a year after Pakistan gained independence.
