Twitter reacts as difficult Urdu proves problematic for PM Imran Khan
A couple of mistakes by PM Imran Khan caused an uproar on Twitter, all in light mood of course.
(WebDesk) – Pakistanis all over the world remained glued to their TV screens to watch their cricketing hero turned politician swear in as Pakistan’s 22nd premier. After a long wait, current President Mamnoon Hussain swore in Imran Khan as Pakistan’s newest Prime Minister.
Whilst the oath taking ceremony was long awaited and exciting, it seemed as though even a confident and charming personality like Imran Khan also seemed a bit rattled by the overwhelming experience. It seemed as though whilst repeating the words of his oath, nervousness took over the new Prime Minister as Imran Khan committed a few grave mistakes that were caught on live television.

When President Mamnoon Hussain said the words “Roz-e-Qiyaamat”, Imran Khan didn’t hear the exact phrase and called out the words wrongly terming them as “Roz-e-Qiyaadat” hence completely changing the meaning of the sentence. Once corrected by the President, Imran Khan realized his mistake, smiled subtly and continued with his oath taking.
Throughout the oath taking nervous jitters were very much evident on Imran’s face. Considering the fact that Imran was finally realizing his dream after a long struggle of 22 years, one can give him the margin.
